Headband Fashion Show - Spring 08

All the rage on the runways of Paris and Milan this season is the headband. Not to be left out on the stage of high fashion are Nora and Iris Starr.
Obviously pleased with her choice, Nora likes to call this her Zsa Zsa look:
This versatile one says let's go hang out at Haight and Ashbury, man...Groovy. Though not an Iris, the daisy will have to do.
Again with the Zsa Zsa - this time in a seafoam green to highlight the cool tones in her eyes and onesie. Also, the weight on the crown is slimming through the cheeks.
Perfect for summering in Ibiza...
Iris calls this whimsical number the Caesar
Nora wants to summer in Ibiza too!!!
Which is YOUR favorite?

Here Comes Trouble!

This afternoon, the girls modeled their new outfits from Grandma Starr. Nora picked out a cute Zebra onesie in her favorite color - butter yellow. Iris chose a t-shirt and bloomer ensemble that says "my finger may be small, but I can still wrap Daddy around it." Uh-oh people.
Iris thinks exhibiting these diva antics is hysterical.
As usual, Nora is worried.

Thank you, Grandma for the adorable outfits! We love them and can't wait to see you soon!

Beautiful Quilts

Iris and Nora are so thrilled with the beautiful quilts they have received! We have the most gifted family members ever! The girls insisted that I post pictures to the site!

These gorgeous quilts were handmade by the girls' Grandmother-in-Law Sonya Moore from Texas and Aunt-in-Law Laura Beth Vietor from North Carolina. We love them very much and the bright colors are fantastic. Iris and Nora especially love the embroidered names and labels announcing the births.
These starburst quilts were created especially for the "Starr" twins by their Great Aunt Nancy Waters from Belton. The navy and yellow are beautiful and as you can see, Iris likes hers very much. Nora likes the brighter colors - especially the butter yellow. It matches her onesie.
A very, very special thanks to Sonya, Laura Beth, and Aunt Nancy. We are blessed to have such a thoughtful (and very talented) family!

Spring has Sprung!

Today, the girls went for their first walk around O-Town. They loved the sunshine and the beautiful tulips that are blooming in the neighborhood.

Busy Weekend

The Starr girls had such a busy weekend. First, our good friend Sydney stopped by for a visit and Iris got a long nap on her lap.

Food drunk Holding hands - so sweet. We didn't even stage this. Makes up for all the crying, I suppose. Finally! A photo of Nora's elusive "chicken wing," which she waves wildly when being burped, or just reclining on my snazzy plaid PJ pants. Next, we will try to capture the "baby machine gun," which is what her cry sounds like - and the "baby station," parts of which you can see in this photo. Bathing beauty Iris All in all, the girls are awake much more frequently now, which keeps Mark and I on our toes a lot. We may be in a zombie haze due to sleep deprivation, but we're very happy parents.

Pics of Week 5

Cannot believe we are already at week 5 with the girls. They are growing so fast! Just like last week, all Iris wants to do is eat, eat, eat...Nora is content to sleep and when she's awake, she's always smiling.

Our good friends Herley and Marcia came by for a visit Friday night and brought the girls' boyfriend Salvador with them....And also some of the best chocolate-peanut butter brownies in the world. I'm convinced Marcia has some sort of deal with the devil to be able to bake like she does. It's not normal.

Little Nora spacing out on the floor... Iris is playing peek-a-boo during bathtime. What a kidder. Here's the Paterfamilias. What a champ. Back off ladies, he's mine! Baby girl is clearly thrilled with Dad's technique.

Playmat Party!!!

Iris is on the left and Nora (who is perplexed by the creepy lamb staring at her) is on the right. Click on the arrow below to view the video...

The Adventures of Iris and Nora

Welcome to week 4 in the lives Iris "Tatonka" Starr and Nora "Little Bit" Starr. The girls have had so many fun visitors over the past few weeks. They are enjoying meeting their new friends, family, and pets and are excited about this week's warm weather. Iris is growing like a weed. She is starving all the time and still has her red hair, we are happy to report. Nora is our little spark plug. She is always active and alert. Enjoy the pics!

Mark and his mini-me (Iris) watching Jon Stewart (although she prefers Colbert).

Great Grandparents Mimi and Papa stop by

Great Aunt Laurie and Cousin Emily hanging out on Sunday.

Jen Ray and Heather Wilson bring us breakfast and feed the bambinas.

Todd and Leslie Kohman came over on Friday and brought their Guitar Hero game for some comic relief.

This is my attempt at feeding the girls at the same time. It's scarier than it seems. Today is my first day alone at home with them. It was a rocky morning, but now they're both asleep. It is much easier to feed one and then the other. So far, that's worked great......so far........more updates to come...Have a great week!

A Few New Pictures

The Family Unit

Iris loves the taste of her fingers and Nora wants nothing to do with it.

Nora wants you to know she's # 1. Iris is doing the running man.

Nora sings while Iris whistles.

Things around here are starting to slow down a bit now that we are getting the girls on a schedule. Every day it is pretty much the same thing: sleep, poop, eat, and sleep. Occasionally we are lucky enough to get some play time out of the girls. These three above were taken while I was at work this week missing my babies. Both are beginning to focus a bit more and are able to zero in on things. We can't wait until they are able to laugh and interact a bit better. Should be an exciting time indeed.
