I Dream of Missy

Blue's girlfriend made a rare appearance this afternoon - sitting in the window to catch some of the warmth of the sun. He's very excited because Valentine's Day is coming up - hoping that Missy will decide to give their May-December romance a chance.

Egg Experiments - The Sequel

Give me a break, it's 25 degrees outside and I'm bored.

**Please note, the egg was COOKED in this shape, not cut post-skillet.

Miss Congeniality

How does she do it? Tatum Channing, Timberlake, AND John Edwards at one red carpet event.

**Additionally, I had no idea Edwards is so short.

Boudoir Banishment

Here is how the rest of the family spent Sunday night during the Colts' game to avoid the "tapestry of obscenities" Mark was weaving in the great room.

The boys and I are watching the 1982 Kenny Rogers hit "Six Pack" - which Molly and I saw at the theater. It features the acting AND SINGING debut of Anthony Michael Hall. SO much better than crummy Peyton Manning!

COLTS WIN !!!

"I'm Peyton Manning - I call the shots around here!"

Bob lives to thump another day.

Below are pics of the fine Snowman, named Bob, that Mom and Dad made today in Topeka. He is quite large in stature and an obvious Wildcat fan - judging from the aubergine scarf and Powercat hat.

Chili seems quite impressed with his new friend.

Luckily for Bob, the frigid weather and blustery wind kept away the drunken, gun-toting neighbor, who is pictured below:

Thumpity Thump Thump, thumpity thump thump.

O-Town Snowflake Party

Yup, we got snow again last night. Luckily, we have friends who are not afraid to brave the weather to come watch the unfortunate KU/TX Tech game at our house. It was a very fun night of basketball, blabber, and Ricky Bobby.

The Bushbaby

Last night, I laughed harder than I have in MONTHS! We were watching American Idol - Seattle. A kid was auditioning named Kenneth Briggs and claimed that people compare his singing to Justin Timberlake and The Backstreet Boys. Clearly, this kid has some sort of physical disorder. But that didn't phase Simon who slashed into poor Kenneth by saying (in his haughty British accent), "You look a little odd, you look like one of those creatures who live in the jungle with those massive eyes. What are they called? Bushbabies."

Bushbabies?

Bushbabies?!?!!?

I spent the next 15 minutes trying to compose myself after nearly choking on my Chocolate Thunder Cheesecake. Oh it was priceless. Brutal, but priceless. I love you, Simon Cowell.

Global Warming Huh?

[from cnn.com]

"A huge chunk of the nation is coated with ice or snow, or is battling freezing temperatures. An ice storm is blamed for 55 deaths in nine states. In Texas, a 300-mile stretch of I-10 is closed because of ice. In Maine wind chills are 40 below. New Hampshire's 6,288-foot Mount Washington registered a wind chill of 77 below. In California, a freeze ruined three-quarters of the citrus crop."

That's 77 degrees below!!!

Borat Wins Golden Globe, Continues to Look Like Gunnar

During last night's Golden Globes, Sacha Baron Cohen won Best Comedy Actor for "Borat." In his hysterical acceptance speech, he mentioned seeing an ugly, dark part of America during filming - referring, of course, to the private parts of his co-star. He also described in great detail almost suffocating during the hilarious naked-wrestling scene.

Additionally, Cohen continues to pose a striking resemblance to our friend Gunnar. Wah Wah Wee Wah.

Ice, Ice Baby

Another weekend, another crummy ice storm in Olathe. However, Mark and I have been trying to make the best of it. Below are the pics of our escapades...

Here we are with Blue - trekking over a river of broken ice with a frozen waterfall in the background.

This is us with our gnome riding in our fancy ice sleigh. Mark really should have dressed more for the weather.

Additionally, Kristen has watched a record number of movies including Pirates of the Carribean 2, 11:14, and Saved. Mark and Blueboy have been watching football and reruns of Rob and Big by the fireplace all day.

The Bird is the Word

This weekend, we went to Topeka to visit Mom and Dad and Chili. While there, we got a call from the taxidermist who was stuffing the pheasants that Dad and the Golden Boys slayed over Thanksgiving at Ravenswood. The bird looks great. We brought it home and put it on the top of one of our cabinets facing the great room. So, the bird (who remains un-named) is visible from both the great room and the kitchen. Blue is just beside himself. I'm not sure if he's scared of the bird (who I'll just call Ted for the moment) or if he wants to rip Ted to shreds. Regardless, he is CONSTANTLY eyeballing Ted from every area of our house. Of course, we egg him on, but it is hilarious to watch. "Blue, where's your bird? Where's your bird, Blue?"

Don't Hassel the Hoff

Baby and I show off our keen fashion sense (a la sister Molly) while demonstrating our undying love and gratitude for David Hasselhoff - cultural icon and King of the 80's.
