Whose house was this? I highly doubt the current occupants can fry eggs as delicious as the previous owners! What say you??

Thanksgiving Triptych: Two
Mimi and Nancy before the big feast.
Laurie and Nancy preparing the tasty bird.
I think he looks like Hannibal from the A-Team.
Margaret and Tom
Mom and I baked a very lemony apple pie - with the best crust ever!!!
The boys woke up to snow on Saturday morning!
...Didn't last long, but was so beautiful!
The great 2007 Deep Fried Turkey Bowl - Preparation
The dunking of the bird.
To the Victor go the Spoils! (note Blue waiting in the wings) Incidentally, this was the best turkey I've ever had and we didn't have to use the fire extinguisher once!

Happy Thanksgiving, Silly Turkeys!!!
Since we are missing sharing Thanksgiving with our friends and relatives to the South, we decided to send our warmest wishes for a splendid holiday and mark the occasion with a reading of "The Five Silly Turkeys:"

Holiday Spirit
One of my favorite things about the day after Halloween is that I get to start bugging Kristen about getting the house ready for the holiday season. This is when we get to put up lights and other things that make our house feel more cozy than normal. Even the fireplace should make its presence sometime this week. In addition to that, the stores start carrying egg nog. Man I love that stuff so much!!! And I've got about five different types of Rum this year to spike it with. Poor Kristen won't be able to join me, though. Thanksgiving is next week, people. Then Christmas. Then 2008. Then new President...thank God!

Playdog Magazine
Congratulations to our very own Blueboy. He recently made the centerfold for the illustrious Playdog magazine. Although he said he's somewhat embarrassed by the sudden rush of fame and endless e-mails, he gave us permission to post his centerfold picture for friends and family to enjoy. Hope he still remembers us when he's rich and famous. YOU'RE MY BOY BLUE!

The Lawnmower Man
I couldn't resists sharing this one with all of you. We have been laughing here at work for the last fifteen minutes watching it on repeat. Favorite line: "my wife said if I didn't go get her another beer, she was gonna stab me in the face." LOL!

Fall Colors in KC
It appears that Fall has come and gone in a heartbeat. The trees here literally turned bright colors for less than a week and then died. I always like to get as many pictures as I can of the Fall colors, but they just got away from me this year. This is really one of the only good ones I was able to get. Kristen got a few (see Weston post). Anyway, this one came from our front door. As I was coming up the stairs one morning before work I saw this and rushed to get the camera.

Saturday in Weston
Today Kristen and I decided that it'd be a lot of fun to drive up to Weston, Missouri and check out the foliage. Even though Fall means the hard of winter is just around the corner, it is still one of our favorite times of the year. It's hard not to love seeing the various colors of leaves when driving out in the countryside. Weston, although not the coolest town by any means, is a great little 45-minute jaunt up North. It's perfect for a Saturday afternoon getaway.

HEY QUINLAN!!!
Guess who came up to the Sprint campus yesterday to visit cousin Mark? That's right...Halloween Boy. I'm not sure why he decided to wear white instead of his normal black, but that's fine either way. He brought us all kinds of candy and even helped me get a little work done. Boy am I glad he showed up. Hopefully he made it back home safely and was able to give you a great Halloween, too.
Burn, Fred, Burn!
FINALLY, someone has nailed this guy. Funny, the whole Phelps family is made up of "lawyers" - yet they didn't see this lawsuit coming. Awesome!!! Leave these poor grieving parents and veterans alone!

Church ordered to pay $10.9 million for funeral protest
A federal jury in Baltimore, Maryland, Wednesday awarded $10.9 million to a father of a Marine whose funeral was picketed by members of a fundamentalist church carrying signs blaming soldiers' deaths on America's tolerance of homosexuals.
The family of Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder -- who was killed in a vehicle accident in Iraq's Anbar province in 2006 -- sued the Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas, and its leaders for defamation, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
